A Cute Little Purse

I finished another little project this morning. My daughter went to a birthday party for one of her friends today and needed a quick gift for her friend. Well don't all 14 year old girls love purses? I sure hope so. A few months ago I bought a pattern for a purse made from a fat quarter and some scrap batting. Well my daughter and her friends are really into Japanese Anime and I had some leftover fabric from the quilt top I made her for her birthday (still need to finish that one...LOL) and whipped up one of these for her friend using the Kanji fabric I had on hand.
When I first bought the pattern I also bought alot of various cording for straps, but of course when I went to make this purse at the last minute (what else is new?) I couldn't put my hands on the cording. So I cut a long strip of the fabric I used for the purse and folded it until it was a thin strip and stitched the folded ends shut to prevent fraying. I really like the way the flat strap looks on it (better than I think I would like the cording).
I'll find out tomorrow if she liked the purse or not.....LOL

Very nice Beth :)
Shoes and purses, at least it's been that way for DD and friends since they were 14- throw in a manicure certificate once in awhile and they are in their glory :)
