It's a Cat's Life

Well isn't this the life? My big bad Anabelle lounging on the bed. This is typical for her in the evening when hubby and I are each using our computers. I guess she figures that if we are otherwise occupied we won't bother her by trying to pet her. She is not very fond of me, I have the scratches to prove it....LOL.....Guess she still remembers that I was the mean lady that took her to the vet to be fixed 2 1/2 years ago....Oh well, her loss.....

Unfortunately I haven't done anything quilty in the last few days....I have to work tomorrow and then I have Thursday to myself.....My mom's birthday is Friday and she has already informed me that she wants a Diva Bag like mine, but made with Red Hatter fabrics, I guess I know what I'll be doing Thursday....Wish me luck!

I spent Thursday and Friday walking the show and spending a lot of money!! (I'll post pictures of my purchases later) and had lots of fun with BearPaw and CathySP and her mom!!

Working on "The King"

Well I am finally quilting swooze's king size Log Cabin quilt! It has been tough to get up the courage to start quilting, but by golly I have started :) I have the top borders quilted and will get the rest done this coming week :) Now that it's started I can work on it in the evenings and git r done :)

I opted to quilt freehand feathers on the 2 outer borders and swirlies on the inner border. Here's a pic of the progress so far :)

Back to Work!

Well as of 10:00 this morning I am among the working class again. I will be working 3 days a week from February thru September. Not too bad, but it will cut into my quilting time :( I had a really good day as I really enjoy what I do and I think that I have made the right decision going to work for this company!

When I got home from work today I had a big envelope on the table. When I opened it this is what I saw:

My first BOM package for the ping quilt! I am really looking forward to making this quilt and it will be my new hand work project! I'll post pictures as I progress!

The Chain Event Top is Together!

Well I finished putting the Chain Event Mystery by Dorothy Young of the pocetfullofmysteries yahoo group, I finally finished it at 4:30 this morning! Here are some pictures. I couldn't get the entire length into the photo as right now the top measures 68" x 102" before borders. Dorothy's mystery used 9 pieced blocks set on point 3 x 3 blocks. I decided to enlarge the pattern to 24 pieced blocks set on point as well in a 4 x 6 setting. Enjoy!

The King is 2/3 loaded!

Well my buddy swooze will be thrilled to see this!! I have the "king" loaded on the 2 front rollers! I'll load the take up roller this weekend when I star the quilting!! I guess I'm out of my funk from earlier....LOL

Here's a couple of pics of the loading process:

A Blah Day So Far

Well I did a little sewing in the wee hours of the morning, I was browsing thru my UFO drawers and unearthed all the blocks and fabrics for my Chain Event mystery quilt that I started last year. So I decided to go ahead and start putting the top together. Here's how far I've gotten (1/3 of the way done) the blocks are set on point (I love the way it looks but don't particularly enjoy piecing quilts on point) and there will be a total of 24 pieced blocks (set 4 across and 6 down). This is a picture of the progress so far:

Now I'm having avoidance issues with the sewing room, I just am not in the mood right now to do anything. I went to sleep around 3:30am and didn't wake up til 1pm. Gues I was really tired!

So I started surfing blogs and found a blogquiz that tells what emoticon you are right now. This one seems to say it all for me today...LOL

Your Emoticon is Cool

You're not feeling particularly up or down, just relaxed and calm. You're ready for whatever is going to happen next!

My Purse is Finished!!

This is my first finish of 2007!!! I am so excited!! Though it is not a UFO finish, it is a stashbuster as I had the fabric in my stash at the beginning of the year! I took the class on this purse from my LQS earlier this month and put the final stitches in at around 2 this morning :) Here are some pictures:
