Quiltathon Tuesday!!

Well I managed to get some quilting in during today's Quiltathon! I selected and cut the sashing for my sailboat quilt. I also managed to get the top pieced :)

All that I need to do now is add the border (I'm planning to use the swirly blue from my previous post) and then quilt and bind it.

This quilt will hang in my new office. I'm so happy that it's almost finished!!!

I also want to thank everyone that left me a comment about my sashing for this quilt. Alot of people liked the swirly blue that I will be using for the border and I had several people suggest that I use a darker blue for the sashing which is what I chose to do.

What a pretty quilt! Sorry my computer is dying a slow death and everything is pretty dark, because I'd love to see the blue swirly fabric. Sounds like a great idea, though.

You made good choices and the quilt looks great. I have a set of about 20 sailboat blocks with embroidered signatures from the 1930's-40's that I've always wanted to put together. You've inspired me!

Yes, Beth, I remember. I have that quilt finished and it's my spring quilt and will go on my bed soon.
Love, your sailboats. A blue swirly fabric will be good for the border like the water.

The sailboats look great, the darker sashing really sets them off. Is your office by the sea? My husband loves to sail and I am trying to learn a bit before we have our sailing holiday later this year.
