Playing Catch Up!

Well I know I haven't been posting much the last couple weeks. I've been busy getting back into the routine of going to work for full days insteda of just a few hours a week LOL. Boy is that ever an adjustment! I'm not back to full time yet, but between working a few days a week and then taking mom or hubby to doc appts on the other days it really has put a crimp on my quilting time LOL.

I have managed to sneak a few things in though. I managed to finally finish my scrappy bargello center from the SuperBargello Bowl and I am thrilled with the result. I have decided on the borders and have ordered some fabric for the outer borders. The inner borders will be from stash and leftover scraps from the piecing. I would normally pull border fabric from the stash, but since the center fabrics are from a single fabric line I wanted the borders to pull that all together and wound up ordering yardage of one of my favorite fabrics from the line.

I also worked on a couple of valances for the french doors in my dining room. I pulled 4 blocks that I received in a swap several years ago. I was originally going to make a table runner from them, but decided they would be perfect for these valances. I pulled a nice red sashing fabric from my stash and put the tops together. I will load them onto the frame and practice "Wonky Feathers" on them hopefully sometime this week.

Now here's the stashbusting update for the last couple weeks (since I've missed posting):

  • Finished the center of the Scrappy Bargello - busted 24 FQs = 6 yards of fabric from the stash

  • Finished piecing 2 valances for French Doors - busted 1 yard of stash fabric

Here are my goals for the coming week:

  • Make a fun case for my new cell phone

  • Finish my addition to 2 round robins

  • Make a new purse for me

  • Quilt and Bind valances

  • Bind Triptych Project

Let's see how I do!
