I had a wonderful day today at a very dear friend's house. She and her husband's 12 year anniversary is tomorrow and they recently bought a new house and had the housewarming party today. My 14 year old daughter and I were in their wedding (I was the Maid of Honor and Samantha was a lovely little flower girl). Jen is also my daughter's godmother. Although we don't get together as often as we used to we are still great friends and have a wonderful time whenever we see each other.
So I knew that I wanted to give them a quilt as a housewarming gift but just ran out of time to whip something up. So as I was going thru the quilts that I have finished over the last year or so I found one that I just love and knew that it would be a perfect choice for them. So I tossed it in the wash last night and labelled it this morning and Jen LOVES it!
Quilts are just wonderful gifts!

there's an idea!! I have lots of tops that I loved making, but have no home for them. I like the idea of saving them for "just in case" situations!
It's a beautiful quilt!
Whoa, no wonder she loved it!! It's beautiful!! One of these days I have to make me a Snails Trail....really lovely gift!
I like the idea of giving a quilt to those special occasions. The gift is especially nice if the person who receives the quilt knows that you made it personally. Those quilts are one of a kind. Distinctive! Will make a post about quilts on my blog.
What a great idea! Looks like the little kitty likes it too:)
Love the quilt you did for your friend's house warming!
Just noticed your cat. She looks almost like my calico but a little more black.
Talk to ya soon.
Michele :)
That's what I'm making all of these quilts for -- so that I have finished projects ready whenever I need them!
Great quilt. What lucky recipients!
Say what?!? You just happened to have an unclaimed, finished quilt waiting??!! That's amazing... and the quilt is gorgeous!
I think it is amazing you have a bed sized quilt just hanging out, waiting for a home. You are very generous!
Oh I remember that mystery :)
I should contact Ann for the directions make it again scrappy this time. Last time I did pink and black and I did the ocean waves layout.....enjoy your weekend.
Lucky friend ! I love the snails trail pattern and yours is lovely with all the different colours. One of these is on my to-do list !
Snail Trail is a wonderful pattern. I love that quilt!
Marvellous, darks with white! The pattern really sparkles.
You are really generous and your friend is so lucky! I have never given my quilts away. They are just too precious to me. I guess people who want them will have to wait until they read my will. :-)
Hi Beth - just been admiring the Quilts you have turned out here, been great sharing the R.R. with you from Quiltchat.
