Goodbye 2013 - End of Year Wrap Up!
2013 was quite a year!! I accomplished a lot of knitting!!
60 finished projects
100 skeins of yarn knit
320 skeins of yarn acquired (bought or gifted)
And I knit 13.3 miles of yarn....This equates to 23,439 yards of yarn knit....WOW that's a lot of knitting!
I'm hoping 2014 allows me to knit even more!! Tomorrow I will post my knitting goals for 2014!
Stay safe wherever you are as you ring in 2014!!

On My Needles–June 14th
It seems like it’s been forever since I posted, I’ve been pretty busy working and knitting the last few months…
What’s on my needles??? Lotsa stripey socks!!
These are almost finished, a few more rows of ribbing and then I can bind them off, they should be done today. These are for Camp Loopy project 1 and I’m loving them!!
These are just a pair of stripey socks that I started last week when I was teaching a friend to knit socks 2 at a time toe up.
And these are going to be a Christmas gift for hubby. He loves the socks I knit him last year and I’d like to knit him a few pair for Christmas this year. I’m slowly converting him to a sock snob LOL
Last Friday I had the unique opportunity to visit The Verdant Gryphon studio and spend the day dyeing yarn!! I dyed 2 batches of Bugga! and 1 batch of Traveller. Here’s the yarns I brought home from my batches…
And here’s some shots from the day…..I had a blast!!!

On the Needles–February 22nd
I haven’t been as productive as usual this past week, but I did manage to finish the fingerless mitts I was working on…..Love how they turned out!!
I made a bit of progress on my Puffy Stitch Scarf as well….
I also started knitting a pair of socks for myself. I seem to be lacking red handmade socks, but not for long….I’m really liking the way this yarn is striping!!

On My Needles–February 15th
So far this has been the month for red projects….
I finished my Lusty Honey Cowl using Wollmeise DK weight yarn. Love it!!
I also test knit a cabled headband using some of the leftover yarn from the cowl….
And in the non-red corner, I have started a pair of fingerless mitts. One of the mitts is finished and the other is well on it’s way….
Oh and I also picked up my crochet hook and a skein of purple yarn and started a Puff Stitch Scarf. Wow this is fun and easy!!

On My Needles–February 8th
Well I finished my Leonard Shawl earlier this week. What a fun and easy pattern! I still need to block it, but here’s what it looks like off the needles before blocking.
I also cast on a Honey Cowl using my Wollmeise DK weight in a nice red called Koralle. I have had this pattern in my Ravelry queue for awhile now and I’m glad I finally got around to knitting it.
Next up after I finish the cowl will be a pair of fingerless mitts using this yarn…..

On the Needles–February 1st
Well I have a few thing off the needles this week, but I can only show one of them to you right now. I have knit 2 super secret projects that are for a swap and you never know when a swap partner might be stalking your blog….
Here’s my Infinitesimal Orchids. I still need to block it, but OMG the Handmaiden Casbah Sock Yarn is soooo soft!!
And on the needles is this Leonard Shawl by Wendy Johnson for the Big Bang Theory Swap. That swap is secret so my partner doesn’t know she’s my partner LOL. The yarn is Socks that Rock Mediumweight in the Rabia colorway. Love the way it’s working up and can’t wait to finish and block it!

On My Needles–January 25th
It’s been a Cowl-tastic week for me!
I finished my Denver Cowl in Miss Babs Yowza, colorway Biker Chick. This was a fun and easy pattern with lots of warmth and texture. I can’t wait to wear it!
I also started another cowl using Hand Maiden Casbah Sock yarn in the Orchid colorway. The pattern is To Infinity & Beyond and this project is for the First Quarter Challenge at The Loopy Ewe. The challenge is to use a single skein of any weight yarn and the pattern must include cables. The cashmere content of this yarn makes it very soft and squishy!!

Showing My Socks–Jan 17th
JudyL has started a new weekly “challenge” and invited everyone to share the socks they are wearing on Thursdays. The only rule is the photo has to depict socks being worn on feet…
So here are my socks du jour….
These are my Skyp the Tea Party Socks made from Fresh From the Cauldron SW Sock yarn in the Tea Party colorway. The pattern is “Simple Skyp Socks” and I modified them to knit them toe up (cuz that how I roll).
Today I am off work so it’s a jammie day. The weather guys keep saying it might snow so I am snuggle in my jammies wearing my bright fun wool socks!!

On the Needles–January 11th
This week I finished a couple of things and started something new as well….
I finally finished the test knit yesterday and love how it turned out. The case was designed for crochet hooks, but I think mine will hold interchangeable circular knitting needle points instead…
I’m also still knitting away on monsters…
Cecelia the Huggable Monster is finished and ready to be loved…
And Spikarella the Joris Monster is almost finished. This pattern looks complex but is so easy. All worked in the round and no seaming at all. The yarn is Bugga! by Cephalopod Yarns and was generously donated by Sarah for the project.

I finished my Hoodwink scarf and it is soooo soft and squishy! I just love it!!
I also made my 1st monster for the 600 Monsters Strong project. The pattern is called Adorkable Monster and the multi colored yarn was designed and donated by Fresh From the Cauldron just for this project!! Her name is Dora the Adorkable….
I also started my 2nd monster with yarn donated by Propaganda Yarns. The pattern is called Cecil the Computer Monster, but I’m calling her Cecelia the Huggable…
