A Stashbusting Weekend!
Well boy did I bust some stash this weekend! I leave for retreat on November 2nd and I decided on Friday that I needed to start getting projects together as well as finishing up some swap blocks that I'll be handing off at retreat to my BFF Nancy :)
So I managed to cut out 2 quilt tops, 2 1/2 sets of swap blocks and the setting blocks for another top I want to assemble at retreat.
The swap blocks I cut are my 12" Black and White Churn Dashes and 12" Scrappy Buckeye Beauties. The 1/2 set occurred when I realized that I had cut, pieced, pressed and trimmed too many 6" HSTs for the Buckeye Beauties. So I will make some more 4patch units and have another whole set of Buckeye Beauties.
Here's the 2 sets of swap blocks I finished:
And here's the setting blocks that I am going to use to set some swap blocks:
And this is the basket that I'm collecting my retreat projects in. I still have some more pre-cutting to do over the next week and a half or so before I leave though.

Perks of my job!
Well this is how I spent my afternoon today. Everyone from my office went out to watch the start of the Great Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race. In case you don't know, my "real" job is chartering 2 74 foot sailing schooners on the Cheasapeake Bay. One of the boats competes (and often wins) this annual race down the Chesapeake Bay from Annapolis, MD to Portsmouth, VA.
Our boat, Schooner Woodwind gained the lead just after the start!!
You have created an EQ6 monster!
Well I have been fooling around with EQ6 more tonight and designed these 3 quilts. I am in love with this program! Now I have to make some of these designs up, who knows there may be a future for me in the design world after all hehehe.

Design Challenge
Well since I've been sick and unable to operate heavy machinery safely (the Janome & the HQ16).....I figured EQ6 would be fairly safe....LOL
So when JudyL issued her Design Challenge I figured it would be right up my alley. Follow the "Design Challenge" link for the challenge rules.
Here's what I came up with, and the best part is that it's something I may actually make....hehehe. It sure was alot of fun working with a known block and designing something all my own by playing with settings and sashings and borders.
Thanks Judy for issuing this challenge and pushing us to branch out a little!

Taking a Journey......
Here's what I'm working on right now. I finished piecing the first block of my newest UFO to be..... Journey of a Quilter Block of the Month. Now I'm going to start working on the stitcheries. They are traced and ready for stitching. I'll be sure to post a picture when I finish the stitcheries on this block.
I'm very happy with it and love the color scheme :)
