I Just Cannot Pass Up a Challenge!!!

I saw this post on a couple blogs and decided to join Finn's Challenge to finish up some UFOs before New Year's Eve. It's a pretty low pressure challenge with no penatly for not finishing LOL

So here's what I'd like to finish before the end of the year:
  • Japanese Kanji Quilt
  • Blue & Tan Pineapple Blossom
  • Scrappy Starstruck
  • Buttercharm & Jelly
  • Trip Around the World
  • Carolina Crossroads
  • Pink & White Swap Blocks

It's a pretty agressive list, but most of them just need borders and quilting. So it should be doable.

Wish me luck!

Quiltathon-ing!!!

Believe it or not I was able to participate today in the Quiltathon that JudyL hosts periodically!!!

Today was also Summer Mystery 2008 Day on a couple of yahoo lists! So I sorted my nickels and started sewing bright and early!!! I am thrilled with my "If I had a Nickel" top! I decided to make a crib size and used pinks and greens from Moda's Celebrate Spring line with Kona Snow for the background. I still plan to do a narrow inner border using the Snow with a piano key border using the white nickels from the same line. With borders this quilt will finish approximately 50 x 58 inches. Since I tend to make larger baby quilts this will be perfect for a baby girl. So I'll hang onto it as a gift since many of my friends are having babies.
I still have 2 more days to sew and I'll keep you all posted on my progress in the sewing room. I hope everyone is having a quilty weekend!
