Fun Mail!

Darlene is always talking about "Fun Mail" and I got some myself today :)

I joined a pincushion swap at #QuiltChat and received not one, but two pincushions from auntbekky today :) I love them both!!!!

I also got my copy of Judy Laquidara's new book. I've just flipped thru the book once, but have already found some great patterns for pieced borders as well as whole quilts :)

And of course my cat decided that the box I got today was a perfect perch for her to nap on :)

I Love New York!

My 14 year old daughter and I took a trip to New York City today to see "Wicked" on Broadway! What a fabulous show! We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the show. It's nice to live within a few hours of "Broadway"! If you have the chance to see this show, do yourself a favor and go see it! It is well worth the money :)

More Finished Projects!

It feels so good to be finishing things for a change.

I joined a Pincushion/chatelaine swap and put the finishing touches on these tonight. They will go out in the mail tomorrow :)

Enjoy!

What a Fun Guild Meeting!

I just got home from the Pax River Quilt Guild meeting and saw Bonnie Hunter's trunk show and scrap user system lecture!! What a fun evening!!

Bonnie is such a sweetie and the quilts are even better in person than on the web!

If you have a chance to see her in person take the opportunity! I drove 1 1/2 hours each way and it was well worth the drive! I can wait to see her next year when she comes back to Maryland for another presentation :)

More Swappy Progress

Well I finished another row for the Row Robin I'm in. I'm very happy with the way it turned out and I hope the owner likes it as well. I machine embroidered the butterflies on my embroidery machine. This is the only way I've been able to achieve a perfect satin stitch.....LOL

I also managed to stitch out the label for the applique swap. I had originally planned to do individual siggy blocks using this design, but rethought that when I saw how long it took to stitch one of these dragonflies out, I sure didn't want to do 12 of them....LOL

My Applique Block is Finished!

Well here it is......I finally finished my block for the Themed Applique Swap I joined. My theme is "Dragonflies in the Garden" and I'm using Fairy Frost by Michael Miller for the background blocks.

I'm very happy with the way it turned out. The dragonflies themselves are very subtle.

The Doll Quilt I Made......

...finally arrived. There was an issue with the USPS, but it is safe and sound in Ohio now with Dani. I just got an email from her that she got it and she loves it. I had a blast making it and am very happy with the way it turned out.

This was such a fun swap! I'm so glad I joined :)

I Love Goodies in the Mail!

Well today was a stellar mail day for moi!

I got home from a bunch of appts with my mom and there were a stack of packages at the front door :)

My pincushion from Darlene's birthday giveaway was here. I just love it!!! It's made using some of the Celebrate Spring fabrics and I love those fabrics!

I also received 2 new Jelly Rolls (In the Pink 2 and Allspice Tapestry) as well as a pattern for scissor cases, a purse insert pattern, a book with several purse and tote bag patterns, a book on Fat Quarter Quilts (need to use up some of these recently purchased FQs) and Eleanor Burns' Still Stripping book (need some fun patterns for 2.5" strips with all these Jelly Rolls I've been buying).

So even though I bought some fabrics strips, I purchased several patterns that will help me to use up some of my stash :) I sure hope it works!
I have also been doing a little here and there on the quilty front. I finished the applique portion of my block for a theme applique swap I joined. I just need to do a little embroidery on it and it will be ready to be sent out. I'll post a pic when it's completely finished :)
Thanks for visiting!
